    Jack Auditions as Cooper's Twin
I love that bouncy Lucky Strike commercial with the Sportsmen and the curvaceous fill-in for rotund Don Wilson. Of course, the big draw is Gary Cooper in his first live show appearance. He's plugging his new feature Man Of The West (1958), still his banter with Jack in front of the curtain is good for a few chuckles. Jack was so good at silent chagrin with his deadpan expression. The skit part is a take off on a barroom brawl audition that probably goes on too long but shows how skilled stuntmen are at faking it. Seems Jack, in elevator boots, wants to audition as Gary's twin in a new Western. So you can guess his reaction at seeing what the audition involves. All in all, it's a good chance to see Cooper as probably never seen him, along with a load of Benny-type chuckles.
